Really good seafood!
Yes Jeagers does but boiled crawfish amount per pound varies during the year
Yes You Can Sir.
It was open today when we went there.
OMG! My husband and I hadn't eaten here since we moved to Lake Charles after Katrina. This place is still one of the BEST restaurants in New Orleans. My food was delicious. Mrs. Ann our server, was wonderful. Her customer service made us feel at home again. Seafood platter with thin fried catfish-YUM. Also, their shrimp and navy beans-I'm still craving them. We can't wait to visit again real soon.
Awesome food! They have a great selection of fried and grilled seafood. Can't go wrong with the Charbroiled Oysters. For dinner we had stuffed crab and stuffed mirliton and of course the jambalaya and fries.. Both were good. Big portions and good food. I love her, the food and paid back atmosphere. Definitely a place to come back
If I could, I would give this place 10 stars. We came in 30 minutes before closing and were served very kindly. We ordered the grilled oysters and seafood gumbo for appetizers and were SO good. For dinner we had the Jaeger platter to split. The portions are bountiful. Also, the nice server, Michelle, A+ to her and the cool guy that was singing to Billy Ocean's Caribbean Queen. Overall, loved the experience. We came back to our hotel and recommended it to another guest.
Can't talk bout all the food but the char grill oyster are so good , thats what I come here for , the place is nice family friendly , wife loves the boil shrimp ..
The freshly boiled crawfish, potatoes & corn was definitely worth buying. The atmosphere at Jaeger's is phenomenal & realxing.
Food was amazing so was the staff. I will definitely go back again. The charbroiled oysters are to die for and the seafood platter was huge.
Great food, great vibe..took my mom here for V-Day. She loved the crab legs. Crawfish were small, but that's expected because February is still early season. No complaints. Great service/great gumbo/friendly hosts! Try it out!
Charbroiled oysters were delicious! Everything else was kind of meh, but we had a nice time with family. Service was good.
The food was amazing. The chargrilled oysters were huge and grilled perfectly. The children's menu had a variety for small children. The staff was friendly and very informative of the menu. The establishment was clean, and the waiter kept our cups filled. Overall, we will visit again.
Food is always great. Try the catfish strips.
What a pleasant surprise! I went on a Tuesday and tried the Crawfish special for $3.99 a pound it was so juicy and good. I also got the raw oysters yhey were large and fresh. Would recommend this gem.
Everything was WONDERFUL! Our server was friendly and professional. The food came so fast that I had to ask them to slow down. Food was delicious! From the appetizers to the entrees. Got too full to make it to dessert. Maybe next time. I would like to make one note to the restaurant. Please use Louisiana seafood not imported. I could taste the difference. That's why I give four stars instead of five.
I have never been so stunned before in my life we placed an order and never received it then when we asked the waitress about it she opened her book and started laughing and said hahahahaha I never put it in I'm like really seriously then she had the nerve to ask if we wanted her to put it after we have waited an hr and finished appetizers not only that she brought us Togo boxes and our receipt as if we ate our entree already I was just done completely is she serious
All the seafood we ordered was excellent. The roast beef PoBoy was almost inedible. The waiter, while knowledgeable, acted as if he would rather be anywhere else.
I was a little disappointed to tell the truth. I got the seafood platter. The breading is just too thick and too dark. I think Seither’s on Hickory has a better platter.
Food was great best stuffing I ever ate service was great nice place for family to eat
Love it. Good experience and crawfish was good. Plenty of parking.
Place is great during crawfish season. They have weekday crawfish specials at a great price. They are well seasoned. Love the Tuesday and Wednesday crawfish specials.
I had grilled oysters at the recommendation of the bartender. They were fantastic with a perfect combination of seasonings. Also had the stuffed eggplant that was extraordinary.
Tried to sell me room temperature "cooler shocked" dead live-crawfish. Then patronized me like I haven't been boiling live crawfish my entire adult life. Two starts because the guy who checked me out and Ultimately accepted my return was nice.
The Oysters were huge and delicious but the shrimp pasta sauce was very salty and there was a lot of sauce on the pasta. I could barely eat it. When I took it home. I added more noodles to it and it was perfect. They need to not be so heavy handed on the cream sauce. The pasta shouldn't be swimming in it. Or, lighten up on the salt. Remember, you can always add salt to a dish but it is very hard to take it out of the dish. There are some remedies like adding a potato to soak up the salt. But if you did it correctly in the first place, you wouldn't have to worry about the extra time for the potato to do its job. I would definitely go there again when we have the money. It is so expensive!
Great service and food! The waitress was very patient with our large table full of small children. The fried fish, oysters, and crawfish was awesome. I do wish they had more healthier veggie options, but I could say the same for pretty much every restaurant in New Orleans area.
Always great food and service 🙌
More than 3, but should not be 4. Some places this long in business do things that make you think they're a little too comfortable. Like a server that seemed to be doing just enough. Like why was my knife bent? My fish was very good, but the sides and presentation seemed out of a decade long since passed.
They have lobster night Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday not sure about Thursday. You get a whole Lobster, potatoes, corn and a salad for $15.00. The service is great and so is the food! Great place to bring family and friends. They also host large events. Their raw and charbroiled oysters are really good as well.
The food is absolutely great! The catfish had a breading that was so good it didn't need tartar sauce. The shrimp pasta was wonderful. My wife loved it.
Not the best I have ever had. Hotel suggested as a good place. The grilled Oysters were just okay. I had Gumbo which was good. I had shrimp remolaud salad. 100% iceberg with 6 little pieces of shrimp. Not too good. Ate the shrimp left the 11 dollars worth of iceberg.
Good food, and it came out hot for the most part. Our hush puppies were really overdone, but everything else was good. Generous portions. Service wasn't objectionable at all, but it wasn't really friendly. We didn't get the boiled crawfish, and it seemed like we were the only ones in the whole place that didn't! They smelled amazing. Next time!
Whenever I come to NOLA this is always my first stop for seafood. Reasonably priced food. The grilled oysters are a must, and the portions are generous.
Great food, nice service, very clean
The food here was absolutely excellent. I'm giving it a 4-star rating because of the service. They were very busy that day. But I am not going to excuse them for the lack of service. The environment is friendly. The bathroom is okay a bit on the small side. But I go there to eat the food and the food was delicious.
Jaeger's has a very impressive interior decor- old photos and actual model sailing ships all around. The waitress was quite good. All of us were very pleased with the food. I ordered the lunch seafood platter ($12.95), which came with a taste garden salad (and it had just terrific bleu cheese dressing), hand-cut french fries, nice onion rings, sweet/spicy hush puppies, catfish, shrimp, and a stuffed crab. All delicious! This place is highly recommended. RJT
Great place to stop for some real seafood. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. The prices are on par with other restaurants near by. The atmosphere was spot on and the music was not overly loud. The one thing I would suggest would be that they add more to their kids menu.
Lobster had good flavor, but over cooked. The place needs a thorough cleaning. The pictures have spots on them, bathroom sink not attached to the counter, fan was covered in dust. Terri was helpful explaining how to eat crawfish.
Everytime we go Jaeger's, the food is great. So absolutely no issues with the food. However, they have to do something with the bathroom situation. The sewage smell that comes from that area can't be sanitary. This is not just a one time event....it is everytime we go...The food is great.
My family and I picked up a to-go order here Sunday night. We got home and our oysters on the half shell were so dirty, as if they were never cleaned. We could not eat them. 🤢 I called the restaurant, Victoria told me they were closed and the manager would call me the following day. Since they are closed on Monday I patiently waited for a phone call Tuesday. Nothing, called them twice and no answer. I do not recommend, the prices are too high and the food quality is not good.
Visited this place accidentally during the road trip. The place is great, the service is great and the seafood was great too. Will definitely visit again in future. The prices are very decent .
The service was great but the food was not seasoned well it was fresh though except the fries I dont know what to say about that.
June 29-- I had an Oyster Platter on which the oysters had too much batter, were fried too much and did not even taste like oysters. I had a "mountain" of fries that were overcooked til they were brown and hard. I would not recommend anyone who likes fried oysters to go to this restaurant. I also had an order of crabmeat augratin which is supposed to be creamy that you can dip bread in it, however it was too much cheese over some crabmeat. I will not go back to this restaurant.
Good food good service Just visiting but I’d come out of my way to come back if I visit again
I had the lobster and it was delicious!! My service was excellent & I wish I'd taken a picture of the food, but I KILLED it before I thought about it! So I took a picture outside!
Always a positive experience, although the place can get crowded a which tends to show down service sometimes. Once, my take-out order was delayed so they sat me down at the bar and gave me a beer while I be waited. No problems there.Raw oysters, snow crab legs and boiled crawfish are my favorites here. The big sign out front advertises daily specials so you can know what's going on inside before you get out of your car. That's convenient.
The food and service was great, the atmosphere had a touch of Nola charm, and can't forget the gator statue out front. We had the king's platter which had a little bit of everything, blackened oysters which is a must have here just yum, and some cheese fries which was good but it's cheese and fries of course it's good, lastly crawfish just amazing. All the seafood was boiled in the same magic Nola spices and just came out splendid with a touch of heat. Overall great experience and even better food.
The staff was really friendly and the food came out really fast. But it wasn't the best place we ate on out trip. The floor was greasy and slippery right as we walked in, and the seafood was overcooked. We did get there right before they closed, maybe it was just an off night for them.
I had a half dozen chargrilled oysters they were very good not cooked away to nothing but not raw. My coworker had crawfish which she said were also good. The waitress was friendly and efficient.
The food is excellent and so is the service. The boiled crawfish is seasoned to perfection. When you visit New Orleans, this is definitely a MUST STOP!!!
In my opinion, there are much better and cleaner places in the area to get a good meal. Beer was cold though... but unfortunately, was the only thing served at the right temperature.
Good food and value, friendly staff too.
Great food at a reasonable price with amazing service. Large portions- you will take home a to go box. We'll be back!
Amazing! I had the breaded catfish and shrimp pasta. Absolutely delicious! (I read a previous review that said their's was "drenched in too much sauce" but it was perfect in my opinion. It's angel hair pasta, which may have made it seem like there was more sauce than a thicker pasta would have?) Service was A+, place was clean, inviting and lively. Will most definitely be returning!
